How does the Qualifier work for Individuals and Teams?

The individual qualifier is 2 workouts per week for two weeks. At the conclusion of the individual qualifier, individual athletes will receive invites if their video submissions meet the required standards.

Two weeks after the conclusion of the individual qualifier, the team qualifier will begin.

The team qualifier is 2 workouts per week for two weeks. At the conclusion of the team qualifier, teams will receive invites to compete at the main event if their video submissions meet the required standards.

What is the Age cut off for Age Groups?

You must complete the qualifier in the Age Group division that you will be as of the Main Event.

Cost to Compete

The Individual Qualifier cost is $25. The Team Qualifier cost is $25 per person.

There is an additional cost to compete at the main event if you qualify.

How does the Intermediate/Scaled qualifier work?

Each week when the workouts are released, the athlete will have the option (depending on the workout) to choose a scaled variation or an intermediate variation. If you are completing the scaled variation, when submitting your score, you must check the box stating that you modified your workout.
At the conclusion of the qualifier the athletes above the qualifying line will be invited to Intermediate while the athlete below the line will be invited to scaled.

**We review all videos. If it is found that you did not check the box and you did infact do the scaled workout, your score will be rejected.**

 

Can I sign up as an individual and a team?

Yes you can. But if you are advancing to the Main event, you will have to decide if you would like to compete either on a team or as an individual.
Important note: If you advance within your Team and not as an Individual, we do not offer refunds for the Individual, and vice versa.

For the team qualifier, will teams have to complete the workouts together?

No, but the scores must be submitted by the team captain.

Who needs to submit a video?

Everyone. Emails requests for videos will be sent during the qualifier. All athletes must respond to this request for a video. To save everyone time, just upload your videos with your scores.

**If you do not submit a video you will receive a score of 0 on that workout.**

You may upload to YouTube, Vimeo, Daily Motion, Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud or Microsoft Drive.

Using YouTube, Vimeo or Daily Motion?

Be aware if you have music in the background with copyright protection, it may be blocked.

If you are new to YouTube, by default YouTube requires you to request a limit increase to upload a video longer than 15 minutes. To do so, follow the instructions in the link below – https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/71673?hl=en

Make sure your video is set for PUBLIC or UNLISTED viewing

Before you start recording

If you’re using a phone, set it to airplane mode to avoid unwanted interruptions during filming.

Ensure your filming device has enough battery life and memory to film the entire WOD.

The content

Athlete should state name, division and affiliate.

All equipment used must be shown (per event details).

A timer must be in sight at all times (tip: if gym timer not available use a tablet. There’s several free apps you can download)

Uploading

If a video is required for submission, upload videos with plenty of time to spare, uploading large video files can take a long time!

If you run into technical issues uploading to the video platform, please contact that platforms support directly.  Uploading issues are outside Competition Corner’s control.

How do I submit my video?

First upload your video to YouTube, Vimeo, Daily Motion, Dropbox, or Google Drive (Video upload tips)

  1. Log into your Competition Corner portal
  2. Click on the workout being requested
  3. Click ‘Change’
  4. Paste your video link
  5. Click ‘Submit Score’

Note: you will only see this option when the announcement has been made.

What if my score was rejected?

I received an email that my score was rejected, how do I change my score?  If we notice your score was entered incorrectly before the deadline, we will reject your score and provide you with a reason.

To amend your score, log in, go to the workout and click “Change”

Note: you can only change your score if the deadline has not passed
